2. Skill Test
The skill test is qualifying in nature and is conducted to test the stenography skills of the candidates. The details are:
- For Grade C: Dictation at the speed of 100 words per minute for 10 minutes. The transcription time is 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi).
- For Grade D: Dictation at the speed of 80 words per minute for 10 minutes. The transcription time is 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi).
Candidates must qualify in both stages to be considered for final selection. It’s essential to prepare thoroughly for both the objective test and the skill test to secure a position as a stenographer through the SSC exam.
